Google AdSense now pays via EFT

Google AdSense

AdSense payment now available via EFT, finally!

For those websites out there like ItsNbits which, to help offset costs, rely on Google AdSense ads on their website  (where they get paid when a visitor clicks on an ad), Google has just announced that in addition to the inefficient check as payment method, they are now allowing payment via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) straight into your bank account on the 15th of each month.

Until now Google has required checks to be the method of payment, meaning on the 15th of each month a check was dispatched and arrived 5-10 days later, then had to be cashed.

Now, in 20 countries, Google is allowing direct bank deposit into your nominated account.

The countries currently covered are:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States.

Every student and worker’s new best friend – the iPod desktop lock

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

iPod Desktop lockNow you can listen to your MP3′s and feel even more warm and fuzzy.

The people over at Targus are about to release an iPod desktop cable lock, aimed at students and workers who like to listen to dodgy music in their dodgy environments.

Priced at US$29.99, the lock comes with a 6.5′ (2m) long galvanized steel cable, for securing your iPod to a stationary object. It works with any iPod with the dock connector, including 5G, nano, iPod Photo, 4G, iPod Mini, 3G.

The combination is a three digit number, so a determined thief, given enough time, will get through it quite quickly, but still the idea is good. I wonder how long before one with a motion detecting alarm comes out? Or maybe it can just force the iPod to play nothing but ABBA if it detects a thief at work.

Saudis slash petrol prices “for the public good”.

Monday, May 1st, 2006

Saudi slash fuel prices…problem is, the only public they care about lives in Saudi Arabia…

It seems its not only the western countries who have noticed outrageously high fuel prices.

King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia (pictured left), ordered that petrol prices be slashed by 30% today, through until next January.

The statement reads "In order to improve the living standards of citizens and for the public good, we have ordered that the price of one litre of petrol for the consumer be changed to 0.60 riyals (US 16 cents) instead of 0.90 riyals (US 24 cents)".

Its wonderful to see that the members of OPEC are not subject to their own outrageous oil price fixing.
