For those not in the know, Group B Rallying quickly grew to be totally and utterly insane…so bad that after lots of driver and spectator deaths, a bunch of teams started to withdraw and the FIA finally agreed that the cars were so light and so powerful that they were pretty close to uncontrollable.

Try 650hp from 2.1 liters (and a whopping big turbo) and a kevlar body to keep weight down, as an example. Same power as many of the Formula One cars of that era.

It doesnt help when you are on tight twisty blind corners and spectators are standing in the middle of the road taking photos as you come around the corner….
